This is what I like to hear. Just make sure he doesn't rush to things. Young guys tend to heal quicker, but he should still get his due rest.

What makes me even happier is knowing that you and Danny are in great spirits. Michael, try to get some shut-eye if you can... the lack of sleep might make you more loopy!

I'll be toasting to you both with some nice Scotch tonight!

Michael, I have been out of town on business but Boyce has been keeping me updated and I hope his calls made their way to you.

I am so happy to hear how well he is doing!!!! I just wish I could hug you both right now...and your mom (please give her my love).

And the story about the nurse, is TOO funny, I love it.

Praying as hard and I can over here...god speed for his recovery!!!

    Much love,

    m.

Bill, I don't even know what to say. For you to think of and offer such a dedication is absolutely incredible to me. To say that we would be honored is the understatment of the year. I will send you the picture of danny and I.

Boyce and Margaret, Danny won't take off your now infamous livestong hat that you left behind to him!

Sharon, Danny is using the spirometer as much as he can. Thank you for making sure. He walks a lap and does some breaths. Walks another and breathes/coughs some more. (in between knawing at his skin, or should I say most of time having ME knaw at his skin!) He's actually taking something now to help get it under control. It's helping.

    'Lovestong.' I really like that.

And Tammy, that nurse of yours is a HOTTIE.

So far Danny's recovery has been excellent and speedy.
    1. His chest tube is out. (earlier then expected)
    2. Catheder is out. (earlier then expected)
    3. He is eating solid food. (earlier then expected.)
    4. 20 laps have been walked around this place.
    5. The O.R. nurse (from yesterday) who seem embarrased at the time, made a special visit to his room on her lunch break to say hi and check on him!!! What can I say, he takes after me! LOL!!!

    Thank you EVERYONE,
    -Michael

    do it!!

Karen, I have not laughed out loud for a while now....how funny!
Mark...another smile. Do it...the nurses will love it, no doubt!! One thing good, nurses get used to all styles and people in their un-edited form. I like that best. To have someone come back and share is the best re-fueling that can happen. It will re-energize them and keep the goodness going to someone who needs it today..tomorrow..etc. I'm going to take it with me when I head back to work! Thanks! Russell's Mom, Sharon

I keep pulling my Livestrong band so it will say Lovestrong.
    Sharon,
All of my kidding and colorful behavior aside, I just had to tell you how much I appreciate all you do. I truly don't know how those in your profession do it. You have a special place in my heart. When I was in treatment this last go around I gave myself little goals to accomplish to get my mind off of the chemo. Inspired by my "Angels" one of them was to learn a song by Jethro Tull entitled "Nursie". I still need to work up the courage to go back to my Nurses and play this for them. The lyrics go like this:

Tip toes in silence around my bed
    And watch the raindrops overhead
    With her everlasting smile
She stills my fever for awhile
Oh Nursie Dear I'm glad you're here
    To brush away my pain

It's short but just seemed to sum up how I was feeling towards them. All my best.
    Mark

My bands break at the "T". I am constantly tugging and twisting the one I wear 24/7. One Sunday in church I was fidgeting and it snapped. Sailed 6 feet up in the air and 4 pews forward to bean an elderly woman in the head. I automatically blurted out my usual "sh*t"...way too loud....as she turned and glared in accusation at the poor 13 year old boy sitting behind her. I almost cleared out a dozen people trying not to bust out laughing.

    Good morning!!

I keep pulling my Livestrong band so it will say Lovestrong.
There is a wide variety of topics this morning so I will share one of my nurse events...from the other side. This of course was many many years ago. The hospital decided to add onto the building, the existing was the usual rectangle type. I worked in the Emergency Room and the plans were to make a huge new ER and ICU. There was much activity in the area between the paitients and the construction. One morning when I drove up...one of the construction workers had painted accross one of the "huge" steel beams at the top of the work..."girls in white make my jeans go tight!" I believe that work of art is still there. You guys have fun...the ER and ICU nurses are a lively group...just make sure it is ok to leave your floor. Russell's Mom, Sharon
PS Does Danny have a spirometer to work with to keep deep breathing going?

I agree with Mark. Never interrupt the nurse while she is rubbing and getting familiar with the patients condition.
Caveat: If your Nurse is capable of growing a thicker beard than you, it might be time for a second opinion.
    Got me Tammy.

Good morning Danny and Michael. I hope that Danny is more comfortable today than when he came from surgery.

Just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you guys.

There are only 4 questions of value in life:

    What is sacred?
Of What is the spirit made?
What is worth Living for? and
    What is worth Dying for?

The answer to each is the same: only Love!

    From Don Juan DeMarco

    Michael,
You had to get Mark going again?

Bill, the "love" tribute with Michael and Danny's photo is really sweet, and so appropriate.
