Hi everyone,
here is the Danny update.
As of two weeks ago, the day danny re-started chemo, we were told by Dr. Schwartz that danny's HCG had dropped from 7000 on the day of his lung surgery to 1300. Actually though this was incorrect information. Schwartz, if you can believe it (and I know many of you can) mis-read the print out and gave us the wrong HCG number.
Two weeks ago his actual HGC number was 8800. When we found this out several days ago in the midst of the MRI of the brain shake up, of course it was shocking. However, we were explained that this would make no difference in how Danny would continue to be treated. It is apparent, that after Danny's lung surgery his HCG DID drop significantly. It probably dropped several thousand, BUT then began rising again as the new tumors in his other lung began growing during his recovery from surgery.
We ARE moving in the right direction again though. As of two days ago, Danny's HCG level is at 6500, down from 8800. Yesterday he started his 7th round of Flavopuridol with the hope that his HCG will continue to drop and those new lung tumors get pounded. His follow up CT scan of his brain is stable.
I guess that's the summary of where we stand right now. Danny is feeling good and has good energy. He needs to gain some weight because he's at an all time low and he's trying.
We are all hanging in here! Slowly but surely Danny is going to beat this.
Thank you all for keeping us in your thoughts,
Michael
