CONGRATULATIONS on your good news! What a great way to go into the holiday! It's so touching to see this thread with people wishing you well.
P.S. Andy's mentioned to me that the only way to "enjoy" the contrast is BERRY FLAVOR CHILLED (the nurses would let him take the contrast home the night before to refrigerate it!)

Hooray Jim!! What great news to get and I understand about the freaking out part...I always panic when the cancer center number comes up on my phone.
Really happy day!!

I often wonder if oncologists delight in scaring the crap out of people. About 10 minutes ago the phone wrang, and as soon as I saw it was my oncologist I started to FREAK OUT.....
It was his nurse calling to tell me my CT scans were ALL CLEAR. They've never called me that quickly. I only had the ct at 9am. So of course I thougt it was something serious.
Oh, well, there goes another year off my life.
But, it was nice to get the good news so fast. Now I can relax.

I'm sitting at my desk drinking my first bottle of banana flavored contrast.
DEEEELICIOUS.
I'll drink the other on the way to the SCAN.
I'm sure it will be fine. If not, we'll figure something out. I'm tired of thinking about it actually..LOL. Guess we've all been there and will come back to that PLACE periodically.
10 minutes ago I just got out of my primary care provider's office here on base (about 5 mins away) and they updated me to a non-deploying status. Guess that is a good and bad thing. I'd trade back the cancer though so I could deploy and really do my job as it is supposed to be done. Guess I'll be riding a desk during the surveillance period. What can I do?

YUUUUUCCCCCKKKKK! You'd think they could come up with better tasting contrast. Glad that's over with.
Matt, I hope your scan went well.

Waiting to hear test results is very humbling to say the least.
Right before I'm about to hear my sons results I come close to hanging up the phone because I begin to panic inside, or when the doctor comes in the room, I search his face for clues and my heart starts to beat like a race horse, and it becomes difficult to swallow.
From what I keep seeing on this board, those that have been at this for years still say that fear remains. On one hand it really sucks, but on the other hand it may well be that fear is needed to keep everyone on their toes with follow-up.
Prayers for good results are with you.
Tammy & Anthony
