The normal doseage is of both of these is 40mg per day, but Danny and people with bad reflux issues can can 80mg per day.

    Hope this helps,

Boyce started Protonics during chemp and is still taking it. I think it takes the belly time to adjust. Small meals are also helpful.

I underwent 4 straight rounds of EP. I found that my stomach was very tempermental throughout the entire ordeal and for a little while after. I found Pepsid AC and Mylanta to be 2 very effective over-the-counter remedies for "sour stomach", etc. Also, my Mom made these homemade grape juice popsicles which really seemed to hit the nausea spot. Just some ideas...

Yes, I had indigestion after my cancer diagnosis that I attributed to anxiety over worrying about the condition itself, but it really hit hard during the weekend after the first 5 days of chemo treatments. A very common side affect of many anti-nausea drugs is indigestion. While it was there but tolerable during the week, it was really uncomfortable during the weekend when I was taking DEX following the chemo. My oncologist suggested I use Prilosec OTC which I did and it totally eliminated it. I would guess that your husband's indigestion will subside now that he has completed chemo.

Congrats and good luck, you guys are almost through the tunnel!

Congrats to your husband surviving chemo. I don?t think the tumor in his abdomen is the cause of the indigestion. I had two rounds of BEP and two rounds of EP (in a row). It took my digestive system MONTHS to get back to normal. A few things I remember:
+I still avoid getting too full, since I don?t want to feel that slightly-nauseating feeling that is so reminiscent of chemo.
+For the first six months, I had to avoid any spicy food. My stomach just couldn?t handle it anymore.
+It took over six months for my bowel movements to get back to normal. (I?ll skip the details).
+Although I have eaten relatively healthy since I was a kid, my all-time favorite food was a Taco Bell Nacho Bell Grande. I had one about a month after chemo. I was sick for a day. No more Nacho Bell Grandes for me.

I was surprised how quickly my body rebuilt itself after chemo. Within a month, most systems were starting to get better. However, it took quite a while for the digestive system to get back to normal.

Have your hubby ask the doctor for a prescription for something for his indigestion.

    Good Luck

My husband is done with his Chemo treatment and the whole time has had cancer he is had difficulty in eating because of indigestion. He is going to have surgery that will remove the rest of his tumor (smaller than a dime) that is in his abdomen. The chemo cured the TC cancer. But is the remaining cancer in the abdomen (not sure how to spell it) responsible for the indigestion and does anyone know if the surgery will fix this??
