  • RPLND scar - should I receive laser treatment to reduce scarring?

    Hey everyone,

This is my second big question with respect to the post-RPLND life! I have a good friend who is a renowned dermatologist (she is actually Mariah Carey's personal dermatologist here in NY). She has offered to treat my RPLND scar with a laser to reduce it as much as possible. I did have stitches instead of staples to minimize scarring. This is normally a $10,000 procedure, not covered by insurance, since it is cosmetic. She has offered to perform it for free - otherwise I wouldn't even consider it. I want to know if anyone else has had their incision laser-treated, if it makes a difference at all or if it could be potentially damaging. Let me know what you think!

    Hi

I don't know. You could try with this fancy therapy of course.
And don't forget to show us "before" and "after" pictures

For myself I think to try some simple cream like CONTRACTUBEX or POLYSPORIN. That's all.

I think you would be the first to have this done. Do you have any idea how it would be done? If it were me I think I would give it a shot. If it works maybe she could give reduced group rates.
