    Hy,
    tomorrow my boyfrined, his name is Max, has the PET.
    We are scared about the two spots in the lung...

    Right I\O 11/28/06 - 100% EC with vascular invasion - CT shows enlarged abdominal lymph node (30mm) and 12 small lung nodules (the bigger 13mm) - Chemo started 01/02/2007 - 4xBEP - end 03/22/2007 - 03/22/2007 tumor marker normal - 04/23/2007 CT shows two small lung nodules (3mm and 4 mm) and lymph node 12mm - 05/23/2007 tumoral marker normal - 06/06/07 CT is stable - 07/23/07 tumoral marker normal - 08/02/2007 CT-PET shows all clear - On surveillance from 08/04/07

    Wishing Max a clean PET tomorrow. Hang in there, we are here for you both!
    Retired moderator. Husband, left I/O 16Dec2005, stage I seminoma with elevated b-HCG, no LVI, RTx15 (25Gy). All clear ever since.

      Co-survivor with husband Boyce, Diagnosed 7-11-06, orchiectomy right testicle on 7-12-06- Stage 3A: Mixed germ cell tumor with inguinal seminomatous and kartotypic carcinoma. One tumor over 10 cm, second tumor 4 cm, Chemo 4xBEP: Bi-lateral RPLND Dec 2006, nerve sparing but left sterile.
      Current DVT
      Current testosterone replacement therapy, Testim.

        Wishing Max well for a clean PET. If this is his first, tell him he gets an hour nap before the scan.

            Brian has his 1st pet-scan next friday, why the nap? is it a long procedure?

            mets to lungs,liver,abdomin,large tumor near kidney
            hcg was 176,000!
            completed 1 rnd of TIP(had bad reaction to taxol)
            BEPx3 until 7/13/07
            7/26/07 post chemo ct-scan shwd shrinkage & fewer lung tumors
            10/17/07 @ MSKCC Liver FREE of cancer! necrotic & small focus of teratoma.
            AFP & HCG normal
            12/7/07 RPLND,right orchiectomy @ MSKCC
            12/18/07, rcvd pathology,all clear! no cancer!
            2/11/08 -Lung surgery dne @ MSKCC
            ALL CLEAR

              4/26/07 - mass confirmed w/ no elevated markers
              4/27/07 - left I/O
              5/2/07 - Dx: 100% seminoma stage 1A
              Surveillance: CT/blood (6 month cycle)
              4/27/13 - 6 years cancer free!

                ... it's necessary to wait about an hour because the radioactive glucose need this time to step into the metabolism of the cells...when you are ready the scan take about half hour.
                left I/O 1/9/07 - 95% embrional carcinoma 5% seminoma with vascular invasion afp 27 bhcg 80- 2/10/07 ct and markers clean, left rplnd 4/23/07 3 microscopic lynph node found with ec - 3/30/09 all clean

                  The nap was the best part. You have to lie still because they don't wan't the muscles to absorb the glucose. You can really do what you like as long as your still. I always opt for a few ZZZZ's myself. Brian will be just fine with the procedure. Let us know when you can. All the best. Take it a day at a time!

                    Max had is first PET..It was a long procedure..
                    now we are scarred to result, fortunately we have it monady..we pray god it's all dead tissue...
