Ok, Let Me Rephrase My Question.....

Ig Someone Goes Through The Chemo And Does Well, And Markers Have Gone Down, If The Petscan Shows Some Active Cancer, What Happens Next? More Chemo? Even Though The Markers Are Down? I Was Just Wondering What Some Experiences Were.

        Dawn,
I wish I could just give you a hug right. I know your anxiety if running very, very high, and we all go through the "what ifs" in our heads but until you hear the results on the PET you won't know the next steps.
The AFP going down does show a response to the chemo, and AFP of 6 is excellent. Really, really excellent. Dr S, armed with the entire history, will guide you and guide you well. I know the wait is agonizing, focus on ths positives as best you can.
We know what you are asking but can't answer it for you. Depending on what lights up there can be chemo, radiation or surgery.....just hang on until you know what you are dealing with and then we can give you our thoughts
        Karen

          Dawn:
All we can really say is that if the PET lights up there will be additional treatment.

Just remember what I posted on this subject elsewhere: there are normal structures that will light up on a PET because they are metabolically active (such as brown fat, the heart, and sometimes the kidney and the liver). You will have a path once Brian meets up with Dr. Sheinfeld. Hang tough,
