  • Brians ct scan results.....

    ok, as i mentioned in the previous posting, Brian had a scan today and mary ann said that there was MORE! improvement in all of the tumors!!! the liver tumors shrunk! the tumor in his abdomen shrunk! we dont have the markers yet, but do you think that because the tumors shrunk more, that the markers should be good? maybe the tumors are infact dead? i hope so!!

    completed 1 rnd of TIP(had bad reaction to taxol)

    10/17/07 @ MSKCC Liver FREE of cancer! necrotic & small focus of teratoma.
    AFP & HCG normal
    12/7/07 RPLND,right orchiectomy @ MSKCC
    12/18/07, rcvd pathology,all clear! no cancer!
    2/11/08 -Lung surgery dne @ MSKCC
    ALL CLEAR

    almost forgot!

    Almost forgot! you were all right Brian's markers are flucuating, mary ann just called anda said they are 3.2, so they went down a point since last thursday. she said its hanging around there. so its not bad...

            I'm glad to hear the news. Hopefully this will give you some relief. It may be crazy in New York, but if the weather there is as nice as it is up here, I think that snippet of good news calls for a celebration... gelato sounds good right about now .

                  Stage III. Embryonal Carcinoma, Mature Teratoma, Choriocarcinoma.

                    Dawn,
                    When we had a blip that then went down I was almost glad to have experienced it....so the next blip...and there WILL be blips...won't freak me out. Great news!!!
                    Retired moderator. Husband, left I/O 16Dec2005, stage I seminoma with elevated b-HCG, no LVI, RTx15 (25Gy). All clear ever since.

                      Those little rises can cause a lot of anxiety. Glad everything came down!
                      Co-survivor with husband Boyce, Diagnosed 7-11-06, orchiectomy right testicle on 7-12-06- Stage 3A: Mixed germ cell tumor with inguinal seminomatous and kartotypic carcinoma. One tumor over 10 cm, second tumor 4 cm, Chemo 4xBEP: Bi-lateral RPLND Dec 2006, nerve sparing but left sterile.

                        I'm very happy to hear great news
                        Right I\O 11/28/06 - 100% EC with vascular invasion - CT shows enlarged abdominal lymph node (30mm) and 12 small lung nodules (the bigger 13mm) - Chemo started 01/02/2007 - 4xBEP - end 03/22/2007 - 03/22/2007 tumor marker normal - 04/23/2007 CT shows two small lung nodules (3mm and 4 mm) and lymph node 12mm - 05/23/2007 tumoral marker normal - 06/06/07 CT is stable - 07/23/07 tumoral marker normal - 08/02/2007 CT-PET shows all clear - On surveillance from 08/04/07

                            Not only is it good news that the markers are stable, BUT! the ct-scan showed more shrinkage in the tumors!! does anyone know if that means they are dead? if so, where are the markers coming from?

                              4XEP 1/29-4/6/ 07
                              AFP started increasing3 wks later
                              Residual abdominal mass found on CT
                              RPLND 6/8/07
                              Cancer in pathology-
                              80% mature teratoma, 20% Yolk Sac. --
                              No adjuvent chemo and
                              AFP normalised

                              July 22, 2010 ---- 3 years all clear!
