    Hi,

A PET/CT scan will show the metabolic activity of a tumour (and all other organs).
My Prof's used it for the three month post chemo check to see if my residual retroperitoneal mass was still 'alive'.
Prior to that I had had ultrasound, followed by several CT scans to measure the size of the tumour and the staging throughout my diagnosis and chemo treatments.

    PET Scan

    Hello,
like PET Scan should be best method for early cancer detection (I'm just quoting some sites, I'dont know if it is) I'm wondering why this scan is not performed more for TC regular checkups ? I know it is very expencive but are there some rules when or how they should send you to PET Scan or it is not standard treatement (check) method for TC cancer ?

    Thanx
