Help Please! A Pain Question

For the past three or four days I have been experiencing an uncharacteristic amount of pain on the side of my scrotum where my left testicle used to be (had my left I/O in January of this year). It's not with the prosthesis itself, but there is a cord or a small mass which doles out some pretty sharp pain, especially when I try to sleep and lay on my side. I did some feeling around and whenever I touch the tender mass, that is when I feel the pain. The pain will often spread to the surrounding area and is quite unpleasant. Outwardly, everything looks fine, nothing is swollen and appears normal.

It's been a long time since January so I'm not sure if it is the grape or pain from the spermatic cord, or what. I have an appointment with my oncologist this week but I have been having a rough time sleeping properly, so if anyone has experienced this or knows anything I can do to ease the pain I would greatly appreciate it.
