    i wanted to share with all of you, a few pics from last nights award ceremony.
    Brian was so glad he was released from Sloan on tuesday so that he was able to attend the ceremony. it was beautiful!! we cried tears of happiness for him. he was in a great deal of pain, escpecially from wearing his uniform jacket.... we still havent heard anything about his final pathology
    it has been 9 days since his surgery! does anyone think this is normal?

    Fiance Brian, dx:stage IIIC non-sem 4/18/07
    mets to lungs,liver,abdomin,large tumor near kidney
    hcg was 176,000!
    completed 1 rnd of TIP(had bad reaction to taxol)
    BEPx3 until 7/13/07
    7/26/07 post chemo ct-scan shwd shrinkage & fewer lung tumors
    10/17/07 @ MSKCC Liver FREE of cancer! necrotic & small focus of teratoma.
    AFP & HCG normal
    12/7/07 RPLND,right orchiectomy @ MSKCC
    12/18/07, rcvd pathology,all clear! no cancer!
    2/11/08 -Lung surgery dne @ MSKCC
    ALL CLEAR

    Gosh, how proud you guys must be! Glad he made it through the ceremony, even if accompanied by pain..... 9 days wait for a path report sounds a bit too much time to me, but I'm not sure if liver path takes longer due to biological/chemical reasons

        Co-survivor with husband Boyce, Diagnosed 7-11-06, orchiectomy right testicle on 7-12-06- Stage 3A: Mixed germ cell tumor with inguinal seminomatous and kartotypic carcinoma. One tumor over 10 cm, second tumor 4 cm, Chemo 4xBEP: Bi-lateral RPLND Dec 2006, nerve sparing but left sterile.
        Current DVT
        Current testosterone replacement therapy, Testim.

          Looks like it was a great evening.
          Stage III. Embryonal Carcinoma, Mature Teratoma, Choriocarcinoma.
          Diagnosed 4/19/06, Right I/O 4/21/06, RPLND 6/21/06, 4xEP, All Clear 1/29/07, RPLND Incisional Hernia Surgery 11/24/08, Hydrocelectomy and Vasectomy 11/23/09.

          Please see a physician for medical advice!

              Great pictures, Dawn. I especially like the slogan on the award: "All men are created equal, then a few become firefighters."

              right inguinal orchiectomy 6/5/2003 > nonseminoma, stage I > surveillance > L-RPLND 6/24/2005 for recurrence, suspected teratoma but found seminoma, stage II > chylous ascites until 9/2005 > surveillance and "all clear" since

                Scott, I'm glad your eyes are good enough to read that...I guess gotta go up a notch in my drug store reading glasses
                Retired moderator. Husband, left I/O 16Dec2005, stage I seminoma with elevated b-HCG, no LVI, RTx15 (25Gy). All clear ever since.

                    Congratulations on the Award, that's quite an honor!

                    Nine days seems a bit long, but maybe the lab just got swamped with a lot of samples. I would not read anything into the time frame.
