  • Nerve Regeneration???

    Hi Everyone,
Tim had stage 1a Seminoma 18 months ago & did the Carboplatin 2x. In the last month he has complained that when he goes to the bathroom sometimes his scar area burns? Is this normal or not? Is it nerve regeneration or something to be concerned about? He has his check-up (blood work, ct scan & lung x-ray) later this month & I wondered if I should be really concerned ? Has this happened to anyone else? He descibes it as alomst exactly along the scar line, which he still has no real feeling on- only pressure?

Just when he goes to the bathroom? That part sounds odd. Sorry to ask these questions, but am I assuming correctly that it's during a BM and is straining a factor? Scar tissue can form that causes positional discomfort.
I wouldn't be concerned but I would mention it at the next check up.

And congrats on being 18 months out with 2X carbo and doing fine....only a couple of guys here chose that route and we all learn from these "pioneers".

      Karen,

Thanks for the quick response! Actually it is when he pees. He says it is not every time and actually has not happened in about 8 days. It has happened over the course of a month. When it happens he says it is totally confined to the scar area, do you knwo if nerve regeneration really occurs? When? Is it normal that feeling has not come back yet?

I am a true worrier and this whole cancer thing has really shaken me.

Thanks a million. So nice to others are only a few keys away!
