Did your doctor explain why you're having PET scans? They're not typically used for surveillance.

    PET Scan Results

I haven't wrote in a while just been interested to see what everyone else has been doing. Well now I have come to a crossroad on my TC adventure, this past week I had a second PET scan. My first PET was done in Sept. not even two weeks after my IO. On my second opinion I was told that it is a mistake to do a PET that soon and that any problems that were found are probably nothing except for the lymph nodes cleaning up the scar tissue from the surgery. Well anyway my first PET scan showed an uptake of 4.3 SUV in one of my lymph nodes. Like I said I was told to not put alot of stock in this at the time. Well now on my second PET, the same node, came back with an uptake of 5.9 SUV. My oncologist has said that this is a very small increase and that the node is still not visible by a regular CT scan. He has told me to stay on surveillance for another 2 months, and then have another PET scan in February to see if it goes up again. I am just curious if I should stay on surveillance, have a RPLND, or just what I should do now. Any opinions, thoughts, or past experiences are appreciated.

History: IO August 18th. NO LI, VI, nothing in the surgical margin, and the tumor was completely encapsulated. bhcg elevated pre IO at 55, but returned to normal within one weeke after surgery. All other markers normal. Pathology was %65 seminoma, %35 mature teratoma, and have been on surveillance ever since. Have had two PET scans with the above results, one CT scan that came out clear, two tumors markers with all clear, and one x-ray with all clear.
