That's great news. He'll get excellent treatment at Sloan, and participating in a clinical trial is good not only for him but for all future patients who will benefit from its findings.

thanks for replying Scott.Scott is actually my good friends name who is undergoing this treatment.hes having his stem cells harvested december 26th,i just found out.ive been so blind sided by this whole expierience, that i didnt even realize the obvious.even if the worse does happen, which i hope never ever does,he did still help someone else out by even undergoing this trial like Scott said.fortunately, this kid is a fighter and he always has been.when the doctors were going over his "right to withdraw" yesterday,he told them not to even bother getting into it,it would'nt apply to him.hes continued to make me proud every day for the last 4 months or so,im amazed at how much this has transformed him.i will keep up with the updates, and thanks again

Your friend sounds like a real fighter. It's amazing how often the care giver finds strenght from the person who is sick. Your friend is quite an inspiration, hang tough with him and everything will turn ourt fine. Sloan is a wonderful place (my son was treated there).
Son Jason diagnosed 4/30/04, stage III. Right I/O 4/30/04. Graduated College 5/13/04. 4XEP 6/7/04 - 8/13/04. Full open RPLND 10/13/04. All Clear since.

Treated by Dr. Rakowski of Midland Park, NJ. Visited Sloan Kettering for protocol advice. RPLND done at Sloan Kettering.
