  • Seminoma I or IIA - questions

Hello, This forum is great thing and thanks to the creator!

    My case history:
During fertility investigation of my lower sperm count, ultrasound showed unusual area in the right testicle. Nov 15th,2005 biopsy showed that it was seminoma and orchiectomy was performed at the same time. The doctor, who operated on me, said that there was no sign of any spread and that it looks like it was completely contained in one place, so we caught it early. Two weeks after orchiectomy I had follow up CT, which showed one ~12mm lymph node in between two aorthas. The M.D. Oncologist suggested that it is more likely that this is Seminoma IIA now, rather than that lymph node is just enlarged from some other reason. His suggestion was RT - radiation terapy immediately. I asked for monitoring to have another CT 6-7 weeks after (Jan18th,2006) to see is this lymph node growing or shrinking or it is the samesize. The next day I started very drastic diet called "The Breuss Cancer Diet" for which I plan to be until Jan15th,2006 (42 days). I already lost 7kg and I will loose another ~5-7kg by the end of the diet. According to this diet I take only 250-500ml of juice made of 4 roots; beets, celery, carot and black radish. Plus I drink three teas. That is all that I take, nothing else and I feel ok, bearing this very well. Whole diet you can find on the internet.

So, I would ask the audience here to share with me their views, opinions and advices and to help me get answers on the following:

    1) "The Breuss Cancer Diet": Has anybody tried it or knows somebody who got good result with it, regarding seminoma in lymph nodes?

    2) Anybody else who cleared up seminoma in lymph nodes by any other alternative approach?

    3) Is it usual to have at least one little bit enlarged lymph node two weeks after orchiectomy, especially since there was a lot of liquid leaking from the cut at that time, which is lymph actually and the cut is in the groin area?

    4) Fertility wise and long term health wise, which is better, RT or chemo?

i was also stage II seminoma. i had a 4 cm tumor in retroperitineal and tumors in both testicals. i had right i/o and radiation and later the left i/o. i believe radiation is only used when the mass is smaller than a certain size(which i can't remember at this moment) but i pretty sure your tumor is larger than recommended for radiation therapy. i'm sure someone else can clarify this!!
i haven't heard of this diet but will check it out because i have gained 30lbs since my removals!! i'll try anything to get this extra weight off. i hope all goes well for you and you will be in our thoughts and prayers. brian

A 12 mm (1.2 cm) lymph node is only slightly enlarged. Brian, maybe you misread the size?

Since none of us is a doctor here, I think the best posts are those that provide the "I've been there and back" point of view, with tips you learned along the way that you wish someone had told you.

              Why on Breuss diet...

Hi, I decided to take a 42 day course of Breuss diet immediatelly when doctor told me result of the CT, which I did not expect, nor did the doctor.

He and my family doctor were not supporting me for this diet, saying things like that this diet is insane. While, the doctor who operated me said that dieting is good for cancer from his experience, adding that antioxidants are extra good addition. I did not expect doctors to take any other stand, since if they do, they risk beeing wrong in unofficial medicine, while beeing wrong in official medicine has no hard consequence to them, so I just asked doctors to support me in my path, since I needed at least one blood check to see if everything is ok while on the diet. So far, since Dec 5th 2005, I am still on the diet and everything is going ok. Blood and urine tests showed that I am good. I feel good. I even caught some virus of cold/flu and fought it very quickly with just adding extra vitamin C. Still have dry cough, but that will ease off soon. So, my imune system is quite well.

Oncologist told me that I am rare case, who does not listen blindly to their prescribed steps. So, I know that there is not many people doing what I do or similar approach.

I wanted to know if anybody here has tried alternative remedies and approaches and to hear your experiences.

I have downloaded, many books, scientific articles, read many web-sites, discussions, documentarie movies, etc, since it is in my nature to study things from many sides, especially in this case. There are many other approaches out there, but Breuss diet is special, compared to all others and I have many reasons why I picked it.

So, Why I decided to go on this diet. The reason is simple - to starve the cancer and to detoxify my organism. I did a lot of researching from both sides, standard medicine and alternative. I did not reject the official medicine approach with recommended RT, but I postponded it since seminoma usually does not grow fast. I wanted to try "logic" natural approach in between, knowing that it won't do any harm and can possibly only do good to me.

Today, we have more varriety and quantity of the foods than ever! Our organisms did not evolve in these conditions. Almost every religion in the world has "fasting" in their practice, eventhough fasting is more health issue than religious, but as religious books are collection of good practices throughout the ages, fasting was one "learned" thing, that very few people implement in their life today. Our food, environment and everything aroud us is full of "bad stuff" for us. We need cleansing from time to time.
I chose Breuss diet, since it looked as the most logical and rapid, while still naturally sustainable and I am living proof in my 4th week of it. I lost ~10kg so far. My concentration is very noticeably better. I am very active, go to work. Going around these days in shopping with my wife for whole day walking :-) I am functional every day and evenings. Sounds unbeliveable, but it is true, doing all that and drinking just ~250-300ml of this juice and these two teas. I was very fit guy before and active as well. Now I am even more fit. One additional difference is that now my sweat does not smell at all and I sweat lot less. Our sweat tells about toxins in our body and toxins are in direct connection to cancers.

I could go more about this, you can ask me anything about this and I will be updating you with my progress.

Can somebody help me with my original questions?

              Tx.

                My opinion

HI. As you can see I had stage III bipulmonary subpleural metastasis, embryonal carcinoma. I had 3xBEP and now I'm fine. Like you, I tried to finde more information as I could. Especialy about the Breuss cancer cure. Scientificaly speaking, I bealive in this diet. The rate of cure or prevention is very high. The main difference between cancer cells and normal cells is about fuel. Cancer cells needs proteins and glucide in order to survive. The normal cells needs them too, but they can survive much longer without them. So, I'n decided too to try this diet but only 2 weeks per year for prevention only. Now, I recomend you to complete this diet. I bealive it will works.

                Best regards

On the internet are very few info about it. I have the book. But I'm not so naive to bealive all the "alternative" treatments. But Breuss cancer cure has a scientific support in my opinion (and not only mine). I bealive that in case when the cancer are not very large metastazied, it works.

I'm afraid I can't help with the first two questions.

                      3) Is it usual to have at least one little bit enlarged lymph node two weeks after orchiectomy...
It is certainly suspicious for testicular cancer metastasis, though lymph nodes can be enlarged for other reasons, as you and your doctor agreed. I don't think you're taking undue risk by watching it for a few weeks.

                      4) Fertility wise and long term health wise, which is better, RT or chemo?
Chemotherapy generally has more long-term side effects. The article at this link compares long-term and late effects of radiation therapy and chemotherapy.

Tx Scott and Adrian for replies and answers. Questions 3 and 4 are the most important and in my case if Breuss doesn't clear it up, after 18th January 2006 I will decide to go on RTdue to lower risk for fertility and in the meantime to freeze close to dozen of smen samples. Although I know that seminoma tend to spread to rep. lymph nodes, in my case as doctor pointed it looked contained. So, I think that most likely the CT result with one 1.2cm lymph node was due to the discharge from the cut in the groin area. Never the less I took the situation seriously and am changing my life habits, especially diet first with Breuss diet, then I have other plans too.

The best is to buy Breuss book ~15$Cdn, but if somebody needs, here is the recepie, since Dr. Breuss did not keep his knowledge as a tabu and he was a great talented healer and extraordinary person.

                        - 42 days is the length of this treatment by consuming only the following and nothing else ! 21 day version is used for prevention and weight control every year. Continue normal life and take a light exercise and fresh air! Drink water as you feel needing.

                        - It is very important to drink the following juice and teas by keeping every sip for some time in the mouth so the digestion starts in the mouth. Feel the taste for longer.

                        - Through out each day drink 250-500ml of juice. Closer to 250ml range is better, but do not exceed 500ml a day. Pick good botles for these juices and two thermos botles.

                        - To make juice use good quality juicer with, if possible organic ingredients:
                        55% or ~3/5 beets, 20% or ~1/5 carrot, 20% or ~1/5 celery root, 2% or ~1/50 black radish.
(For liver cancer add 1 potato size of a small egg or 3%.)
Strain all hard particles from the juice through dense cloth.

                        - Drink the following teas without shugar or any additives.

                        - Optional is to flush bowels daily in the morning: 1 head tablespoon of epsom salts & 1 pinch of vitamin C powder in a warm cup of water, or use the breuss BLT mix herbal tea, which is a natural laxative.

                        - Tea1: Sage tea – drink as much as you want during the day even 3 liters is ok. Place one to most two teaspoons of Seage (Salvia officinalis) in 500ml (2 cups) of boiling water, then boil for 3 minutes. Then in the sage tea put one teaspoon of each St John’s Worth (Hypericium perforatum), Pepermint and Balm (Melissa officinalis, eng. Lime Balm). Then let everything steep for 10 minutes.
Drink this tea through out the day whole treatment.

                        - Tea 2: “Kidney tea” – mixture for first 3 weeks only:
                        15g Horsetail (Equisetum arvense),
                        10g Stinging nettle (Urtica dioica),
                        8g Knotgrass (Polygonum aviculare),
6g St John’s Worth (Hypericium perforatum).
If finely cut, place half of tablespoon of this mixture into half cup of hot water, let steep for 10 minutes, then strain the tea aside and put another cup and boil for 10 minutes.
Take cold 1/3 of this early on empty stomach, then 1/3 before lunch time, then 1/3 before going to bed.

                        - Tea 3: Cranesbill tea through out all treatment:
Put half of tablespoon of herb Robert (Geranium robertianum, red cranesbill) into one half cup of hot water for 10 minutes to steep. Drink half cup cold every day.

                        - If feeling hunger, you can chop one onion and cook it in 500ml of water for 20 minutes and strain. Use only little bit of salt to get taste ok. Most likely this soup is not needed, but only in a case of hunger.

                        My experiences and additions:

                        - In a case of flu or cold there is no need to , use more sage tea and you can add some lemon juice to the roots juice. I personally used lots of pure vitamin C and from time to time I took some Zinc with coper, selenium and B-complex. I was doing this so only during cold/flu days, the rest of the days I was on a strict regime. I also recovered from the flu very fast, which was surprising to me.

                        - Do every day schedule - life as usual including, work, walking and etc. :-) Add some stretching and light exercise when feeling so.

                        - Do not expect to have energy for longer running like before, but you can expect to have the same the same energy level for short runs. Lots of people report having higher overal energy level.

                        - Avoid stress and it is very helpfull if you have support from closeones. Also, it is individual decision to be telling this to many contacts, since you shluld be prepared for many wauuu's and lot's of explanation. At least my approach is to tell the minimum during the diet, and keep the rest after the end. So, bee cool !

                        - If your job is stressful, try to find a way around it, or otherwise take leave of absence. Also, if you do business travel, try to arange so you do not travel during this diet. It is best to work. In my case, my job was not stressful, but I had to arrange not to have business trips for two months, which was not hard at all.

                        - It is the best to prepare fresh juices every morning. If not in such situation, you can buy juice from health stores under name Biotta Vegatable Breuss Juice (In Toronto Biotta is in all of the health stores).

                        - Do blood and urine check once or two times during this diet if you choose 42 days. My blood check after three weeks was excellent.

                        - Expect to have maybe 1-3 stools for 42 days. This is from particles from the juice, so strain it through dense cotton cloth. Some people flush their bowel every day with chamomile or epsum salts.

                        - Do not do this diet if you do not feel overal well physically and psychically ! For me I did not have feeling of hunger nor I had any crysis, but I can imagine that lots of the people would brake diet easily on social events and through out every day temptations. I did have much stronger smell for food, but was not tempted with it at all. What comes to me naturally, close people to me say that, basically, strong will is needed and I think that cancer situation can revive strong will in most of us if not all.

                        - This diet is for wide variety of cancers and there is no guarantee, but it is reported that Dr Breuss cured over 40.000 documented cases using this diet.

                          correction

                          Instead:
For liver cancer add 1 potato size of a small egg or 3%.
                          ->
For liver cancer add 1 peeled fresh potato of size of a small egg or ~3%.

This diet does not sound good to me. I'm surprised that there has not been more criticism. I'm sure it helps you to lose weight, and antioxidants are great and all of that, but to my knowledge, a cancer cell just needs blood and oxygen to keep going. Since your body is packed with proteins that are produced by your body, I'm not sure that not eating protein would help that much.

Am I reading your post correctly that you are trying to do this instead of radiation and/or chemotherapy? I guess that if surveillance is an acceptable option for Stage IIA that you can do whatever you want, including the "dominos pizza diet" or the "big mac diet" as long as you follow up on the strict surveillance.

                              hi

This diet cut the sugar source too. Proteins and SUGAR deficience may kill cancer cells indeed. The breuss cancer diet is a success story in many cases because of completly abstinence of sugar mainly, not protein. Anyway, I personaly know a man at 55 years old, irrecuperable declared by onc doctors 10 years ago with multiple bone metastases. He followed the Breuss diet and he's alive today completly healty. It was a miracle. He takes every morning Breuss juice and eat healty. I recommend you, all of you the preventive 21 days Breuss diet once per year.
