Paul and some of our other members have so much confidence in their urologist that they stick with the urologist for surveillance. Others prefer to switch to an oncologist.

If your urologist is competent and not afraid to consult with an oncologist when appropriate, there is nothing "wrong" with having the urologist do the surveillance. Not all oncologists are TC experts, either.

Up to you, either one can be an appropriate choice.

    Surveillance

    Everyone,

I was wondering if I should be concerned that my urologist wants to handle the surveillance? Should I insist on the oncologist doing it? I worry that if I have a recurance that he is ill-suited to make the diagnosis.

He's been a great human being, but being a good guy doesn't necessarily make him a subject matter expert on TC.
