  • remaining ball aches and aches!

I had my I/O five months ago now and all my tests are fine, but since day 1 my remaining testicle has ached occasionally, not every day, but every couple of days. Obviously this got me worried but I can't feel anything amiss, and my doctor seems unconcerned, but has not told me what it might be.

This make me think that the ache is normal, but I'd be happier if I knew what it was. Is my remaining testicle having to work harder to compensate for the loss of his buddy, or is it likely to be something completely non-cancer related? Any thoughts?

from what i was told that your remaining is not really gonna make up the difference but it will produce enough on its on to supply you with what you need. if that makes since? i would keep an eye on the levels it produces and make sure you dont need some replacement of testosterone. after my first I/O and a partial, mine didnt do anything but that may be from the trauma of surgery, treatment etc.... its relatively small percentage of both testicals having cancer but i did!! i'm sure your urologist will keep close eye on it. good luck! brian

      Hello,
I know what you mean about problems with remaining testicle, but it looks like you are in a small group like I was where your nerves around abdomen are making problems. I don't believe that your pain is coming from another TC, I believe you need longer time to recover completely. I was in same shoes like you 1 and a half year ago and I was searching trough the net for answer. I found that I'm not the only one and that I'm not crazy or imaginating everything.
I had such a feeling almost one year after surgery so be patient and of course, kepp an eye on remaining testicle but you must also understand, that we see and feel now things much quicker then before.

      Good luck

        Hi,

Im having something similar - occaisonal ache, which I normally only notice when Im sitting down. I think Krokar has probably hit the nail on the head with "you must also understand, that we see and feel now things much quicker then before. I think im just ultra paraniod about it. Certainly can't feel anything weird, and theres no sharp pain.

Ive got an oncology appointment tommorow, so I think Im going to get an ultrasound arranged. I reckon after I know that that is clear the ache will magically disapear

            hi
I agree totaly with Andy if you have problems and they keep coming back
go for ultrasound, I had problems I went to my doctor and hi said everything
was fine,so I belived him but a year later I had a ultrasound and sure enough it was cancer again, I could feel a very sore lumb for maby 2 years but did not think that it could be cancer again.
So don`t panik but be aware .
            Best wishes
            Kurt
